Aryeh bike trip

aryeh-bikeThis November Aryeh will once again be cycling for 5 days in Israel to help support – emotionally and financially – the special children treated at ALYN Hospital, Israel’s premier pediatric rehab center, ALYN is a very special and magical place. Not only do they combine cutting edge therapy with state of the art equipment and talented and loving staff but they also promote coexistence. Children from every part of Israeli society peacefully coexist at ALYN. It is especially poignant in their one-of-a-kind intensive respiratory rehab department. There, children from infancy to late teens – both respirator and wheel chair dependent – Jewish, Arabic and Christian – and their parents, support each other. Sick and needy children are a great equalizer; making it possible to forget that some are from supposedly “different” sides. The world could learn a lot from ALYN about pediatric rehab and about peace.

ALYN’s amazing care makes it possible to transform disabilities into abilities and to allow each child to reach their highest potential. The work done there is only partially subsidized by health insurance. There is no automatic government funding at all. The Hospital relies on donations to meet the average shortfall of $75 a day for every child treated there. The upcoming bike ride – WHEELS OF LOVE – is the best way that all of us can be involved in changing some very deserving children’s lives around. We can offer them hope and as much mobility as is humanly possible. To learn more, please watch this short video which can be found here: or visit home
